Workfront Phoenix Design System
Illustration System, Brand Language Development, Scalable UI Visual Design
Role: Lead Illustrator | Senior Visual Designer

For Adobe Workfront’s Phoenix Design System initiative, I helped develop a scalable illustration language designed to humanize enterprise workflows while reinforcing consistency across product, marketing, onboarding, and educational experiences.
The visual system combined modular scientific, laboratory, and phoenix-inspired metaphors to communicate experimentation, transformation, and operational clarity throughout the platform ecosystem.
The work included hero illustrations, onboarding visuals, iconography, thematic environments, and reusable visual assets designed to scale across multiple digital touchpoints.
Approach
The challenge was creating an illustration system flexible enough to support a wide variety of product experiences while remaining visually cohesive across the Phoenix Design System ecosystem.
I explored a metaphor-driven visual language inspired by:
     • scientific experimentation
     • transformation and rebirth
     • modular systems thinking
     • playful educational environments
The resulting system balanced:
     • enterprise clarity
     • approachability
     • scalability
     • narrative flexibility
Illustration assets were designed to function across:
     • onboarding flows
     • empty states
     • educational content
     • landing pages
     • design system documentation
     • branded marketing experiences

Brand Identity

The Phoenix mark served as the central visual anchor for the system, reinforcing themes of experimentation, adaptability, and transformation.
Outcome
The Phoenix illustration system helped establish a more expressive and human-centered visual layer for the Workfront design ecosystem.
By creating modular assets and repeatable visual principles, the system supported consistency across educational, product, and marketing experiences while maintaining flexibility for future expansion.
The work demonstrated how illustration systems can strengthen design language cohesion while making complex enterprise platforms feel more approachable and engaging.
